Bats in the Cave Lite app for iPhone and iPad

Bats in the Cave Lite is the free version of Bats in the Cave. Bats in the Cave is the second level in a series of reading apps for young children. It can be used by speech-language pathologists, teachers and parents to teach reading and articulation through auditory bombardment of sounds, phonemic awareness, phonics, and left-to-right visual tracking. The repetition of sounds in words (2 times/word) and repetition of words (3 times) as well as a test ensures improved performance. The full version of Bats in the Cave app has built-in scoring for ease of use for teachers and speech-language pathologists. This Lite version has 2 groups of 5 words each (full version had 83 groups of words). The full version teaches consonant-vowel-consonant words, long vowel with silent "e" (some repeated). In addition, the groups at the end of the section alternate the long vowel with the short vowel (from Fat Cat App, reading level 1) for review.

Please check out Little Bats, developed in response to parents who wanted an automatic version with no scoring. And, it is also more affordable for parents. It contains all the word practice groups that are in the full version of Bats in the Cave. So, now users have a choice; the full teacher’s version (Bats in the Cave) with a scoring system, or a home version (Little Bats, less expensive and automatic playing with no scoring system, or the free Bats in the Cave Lite version for sampling).
